Yooperlite is a pretty interesting material. Yooperlite is a tradename for syenite that contains fluorescent sodalite - often found in Michigan in pieces that were pushed down from Canada by glaciers. The sodalite sections glow a bright orange color under UV / black light. They can also be found in Canada, some other states besides Michigan, and a couple other locations throughout the world.
The spheres I have currently are relatively large:
Size 1: 350-450 grams (12.3 ounces to 15.8 ounces) with a diameter between 2.5-2.7 inches
Size 2: 500-650 grams (1 pound and 1.6 ounces to 1 pound and 6.9 ounces) with a diameter between 2.7-3.1 inches
They include a small stand to help display the yooperlite sphere right away if you do not already have one ready for it! :)
